Whale decorated slipcase edition of this 1849 from the original journal text, enhanced with authentic whaling scenes gracing each chapter. Limited edition, signed by the editor of this edition (Curtis Dahl, great grand-son of Ely, and a former editor at Dodd, Mead & Co.). The story was written by a young man in his early 20's, the son of a gentlemen, who was inspired by Dana's 'Two YPamphlet from Wesleyan University Press introducing the edition is included. Would make a lovely gift.
